Practitioner video for AI companies
Everyone claims. Almost nobody tapes.
We pay working professionals to record real work with your product. You license the footage.
This is a real return. I haven't opened it yet.
It caught the depreciation schedule. I'd have missed that until Thursday.
No. That's a capital item and it's treating it as expense.
Faster than I'd have done it.
It's the boring eighty percent, and it does it.
Here it's confident and confidently wrong.
Two hours of work, twenty minutes now.
The reconciliation it can't do. Don't let anyone tell you it can.
This bit I'd still do myself.
That's a normal Tuesday, roughly.
One take. No script. No avatars. Nothing cut.
Six ways to film a job.
Fixed formats, chosen per pilot. The library grows as we see which ones convert for which roles.
The Full Job
One real task, cold start to done, narrated as it happens. Five to twelve minutes, because that's how long the work takes.
Side by Side
The same task run against whatever they use today. Wins and losses both stay in the cut.
Where It Breaks
The limits, named by someone with no reason to be kind. Costs the most to approve, does the most work.
The Handoff
A senior hands a task to a junior who uses the tool. The buying argument for whole teams, not seats.
The Audit
A practitioner checks the tool's output line by line and says where they'd trust it and where they wouldn't.
Week One
First time in the product, unfiltered. Every stumble in onboarding kept in, which is what fixes onboarding.
Nine days, brief to files.
You approve the role and the briefs before anything is billed.
Pick the role
One job title your product is bought by. Narrower is better. Mid-market controller beats finance teams.
Review the briefs
We research your product and your competitors, then send the briefs and formats. You approve before you pay.
Billing
Fixed fee, charged once, on day two. Full refund if the delivered footage is unusable.
We recruit twelve
Employed professionals in that role. Screened, contracted and paid by us. No follower requirement.
They record
Real files, real constraints, their own words. You see everything. You don't get to rewrite what they concluded.
You keep the tape
Long cuts, vertical cutdowns and raw footage. Perpetual licence to all of it, published or not.
One role. Twelve practitioners. Fixed fee.
- 12 recordings, 5–12 minutes each. One per practitioner, all employed in the role you choose.
- Up to 60 vertical cutdowns. Four to six per recording, cut at the moments that carry weight.
- Raw footage. Everything they filmed, not just what we cut.
- Perpetual licence. Paid, organic, sales collateral, docs. Published or not.
- Sourcing, screening, contracts and payment. Handled by us, including the practitioner's fee.
- Approve before you pay. Role and briefs sent first, billing on day two.
- Full refund if the delivered footage is unusable.
- Unlimited revisions on the edit. None on the conclusions.
- The practitioner holds final say. You can decline to publish anything. You cannot change what they said.
- No retainer, no minimum term. Run one pilot and stop if it doesn't work.
Three different products.
All three make short video. Only one gets watched by a buyer who reads documentation before a pricing page.

What is Tape?
A production company. We recruit employed professionals who hold the same job your buyer holds, pay them to record themselves doing real work with your product, and license you the footage in perpetuity.
What do I actually receive?
Twelve screen recordings of five to twelve minutes each, one per practitioner, plus four to six vertical cutdowns from every recording, plus raw footage. Perpetual licence to all of it, whether or not you publish it.
How is this different from a UGC agency?
UGC agencies recruit creators, meaning people with audiences. We recruit practitioners, meaning people with your buyer's job. A creator can describe your product. A practitioner can be watched using it, which is what a skeptical professional buyer needs before trusting any claim you make.
Do you use AI avatars or synthetic video?
No. Every recording is a real employed professional filming their own screen and speaking their own words.
Can we cut criticism of our product?
No. The practitioner holds final say over their own recording. You may decline to publish anything and still hold the licence, but you cannot alter what they concluded. That condition is what makes the footage credible, and what lets us recruit senior professionals at all.
Where do we run it?
Long cuts for sales collateral, documentation and YouTube. Vertical cutdowns as paid creative on Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and Reddit, plus the practitioner's own channels when they choose to post.
Which roles can you recruit?
Any role where work happens on a screen and the buyer does the same job. Accountants, controllers, recruiters, paralegals, support leads, data analysts, ML engineers, ops managers, clinicians handling documentation. If your buyer is a consumer rather than a professional, we're the wrong choice.
What does a pilot cost?
A fixed fee covering twelve practitioners in one role across nine days, brief to delivered files. No retainer, no minimum term afterwards. Write to hello@ontape.io with the role you'd target.
